Our Mission

The Red Wings Performance Center exists to make advanced baseball data more accessible to athletes in Rochester by bringing pro-level technology into an inclusive, affordable environment that helps players bridge the gap between potential and opportunity.

About the Role

Performance Center Assistants will play a critical role in ensuring athletes have a safe, professional, and productive experience during team rentals, hitting leagues, and clinics.

You’ll be on the frontlines of player development, helping prepare cages, operate baseball technology, and provide top-notch customer service to the athletes, parents, and coaches who walk through our doors.

What You’ll Do

  • Greet teams and coaches, assist with check-in, and review facility rules.

  • Prepare cages and equipment before each rental or league session (baseballs/softballs, Hack Attack pitching machines, custom mounds, and training aids).

  • Operate player development technology, including HitTrax setup, roster entry, reporting, and TRAQ dashboard support.

  • Troubleshoot basic issues with HitTrax, Rapsodo, Blast Motion, and other tech systems.

  • Supervise facility use to ensure safety and smooth operations.

  • Distribute Driveline TRAQ Hitting EDGE Reports to players and coaches.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional training environment.

  • Support Red Wings staff with special programming and community events.

  • Act as a point of contact for athletes, parents, and coaches.

  • Engage in outreach to teams and coaches, promoting the Performance Center and building strong relationships.

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is passionate about baseball/softball, thrives in a hands-on environment, and enjoys working with athletes and coaches of all ages.

Preferred skills include:

  • Knowledge of baseball/softball fundamentals; prior playing or coaching experience is a plus, but not required.

  • Familiarity with player development technologies (HitTrax, Rapsodo, TRAQ, Blast Motion) is a plus but not required.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Reliability, organization, and attention to detail.

  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and move equipment safely.

  • CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.

Compensation & Schedule

  • Hourly Rate: $15.50–$18, depending on experience.

  • Schedule: Part-time with variable hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Why Join Us?

This isn’t just a job...it’s a chance to be part of a growing baseball and softball development hub. You’ll be contributing to an environment that connects athletes to the same technology, training methods, and professional atmosphere used by MLB organizations, right here in Rochester.
