Performance Center Softball Hitting Leagues: Set-Up and Structure

The Red Wings Performance Center was built to bring MLB-caliber technology into the heart of Rochester and make it accessible to every athlete. This fall, we’re proud to launch our new HitTrax-powered Softball Hitting Leagues...giving softball players the chance to train, compete, and measure their progress like never before.

How the Leagues Work

Each season runs for 5 weeks inside the Red Wings Performance Center at Innovative Field. Teams will consist of ~6 players, keeping games fast-paced and ensuring plenty of swings for everyone.

Season One Dates: October 19 – November 16, 2025

• Weeks 1–4: Regular Season → Two 7-inning games per week in a one-hour slot.

• Week 5: Playoffs & Championship → Top teams battle it out for the league title, with individual awards announced at the end.

• Each team plays two 7-inning games per week in a one-hour slot.

• While in the game cage, teams compete head-to-head with all plays tracked and scored through HitTrax simulated fastpitch games.

• While waiting to bat, players rotate into the second tunnel where Rapsodo tracks every swing...exit velocity, launch angle, spin...keeping athletes engaged throughout the session.

• Weekly standings and leaderboards are updated, just like the pros.

Week 5: Playoffs & Championship

• Top teams battle for the league title.

• Recognition goes to standout individual performers, with awards announced at the conclusion of the season.

Team Formation

Softball teams will be built in two ways:

1. Team Registration → One player purchases the team package, then assembles their roster through follow-up communications.

2. Individual Registration → Single players can sign up, and will be drafted into a team within their age division to ensure balanced rosters and competitive play.

   
   

👉 Whether you come as a full team or sign up solo, you’ll be placed in a division that ensures fun, development, and fair competition.

How HitTrax Games Work

HitTrax turns every swing into a live, game-like outcome...tailored for softball. Using advanced cameras and physics modeling, the system measures exit velocity, launch angle, spray angle, and distance, then projects each batted ball into a virtual stadium.

• A line drive into the gap might be a double at Oklahoma’s stadium.

• A deep shot might carry just enough to clear the wall at Arizona.

• For youth players, fields are scaled by age, ensuring results stay realistic and developmentally appropriate.

Every game runs like a real contest: outs, innings, scoring, and lineups all function just like on the field. A digital scoreboard tracks it all...pitch count, outs, current batter...keeping the experience competitive and fun.

This machine fires consistent, game-speed pitches (30–70 mph), so players face true fastpitch velocity with every rep. When combined with HitTrax, it creates the perfect training environment: repeatable velocity from the machine + real-time data and stadium simulations from HitTrax.

Standings & Stats

HitTrax automatically tracks both team and individual stats, creating a professional-style league experience:

• Team Stats: Wins, losses, runs scored, runs allowed, standings updated weekly.

• Individual Stats: Batting average, OBP, slugging, RBI, home runs, and more.

• Leaderboards: Highlight top performers in categories like max exit velocity, longest hit distance, and hard-hit percentage.

All stats are printed, shared, and displayed inside the Performance Center, so athletes feel like they’re following their own season.

Real Data, Real Development

Every swing is measured with precision: exit velocity, launch angle, distance, and contact point are recorded instantly. Players receive Hitting Snapshots after each session, giving them the same type of feedback used at the highest levels of the game.

While HitTrax provides live, game-like results, Rapsodo ensures that every rep outside of gameplay is still tracked. Together, they make the league a comprehensive development experience.
